Navimow Garage S vs M vs X: Which Garage Fits Your Mower?

A Navimow garage is a molded plastic roof that sits over the charging station, keeping sun and rain off the mower between runs. Segway makes four of them, and they don’t interchange: each one is shaped for one family of mowers.

The short version: the Garage X ($349.99) fits the X4 (X430, X450) and the Terranox. The Garage M ($249.99) fits the i215 LiDAR, the H2 and the H1. The Garage S ($199.99) fits the i206 and i210 AWD and the i1. X3 owners need the Garage L, which Segway sells but our store doesn’t carry.

Which Navimow garage fits my mower?

Find your mower, then the garage. Fit is from Segway’s own product pages, checked October 25, 2026. Prices are our store’s.

Two lines in that table catch people out:

• The Terranox takes the Garage X. Some listings describe the Garage X as an X4 garage only. Segway’s own page lists it for the X4 series and the Terranox series, so a commercial Terranox and a backyard X430 use the same garage.
• The i2 series takes two different garages. That one deserves its own section.

Why does the Navimow i2 need two different garages?

Because the i2 is two different mowers. The i206 and i210 AWD share one body and take the Garage S. The i215 LiDAR is a different body, and it takes the Garage M, the same garage as the H2 series. Segway’s own i215 bundle pairs the mower with the Garage M.

The naming makes it easy to get wrong. Segway’s Garage S page is titled “for Navimow i Series,” but the fit line underneath names only the i2 AWD and the i1 series. Buy by the full model name on your mower, not by the “i.”

What’s the difference between Garage S, M and X?

Size and fit, mostly. All three do the same job, and Segway describes all three the same way: protection from sun and rain, no blocking of signals or connectivity, and access to the mower’s controls while it sits in the dock.

The Garage X is the biggest and heaviest of the three, sized for the X4 and Terranox. Its flip-top roof is what you see open in the photo at the top of this page.

Is a Navimow garage worth it?

For most installs, yes, and the reason is shade. A mower that comes in warm from mowing and docks in direct sun charges hot, and the battery protects itself by pausing the charge until it cools, which pushes the whole schedule back. Heat is also what ages a lithium pack over the years. A garage takes the sun off the mower while it charges. On a Delmarva install we put a garage over the dock for exactly that reason.

It also keeps rain, grit and falling leaves off the mower and out of the charging contacts, and it makes the home base look finished instead of like equipment parked in a flower bed.

What a garage doesn’t do:

• It doesn’t fix a bad dock location. A garage over a dock that’s still under a deck is a dock under a deck. Where the station goes is its own decision: where to put your Navimow charging station.
• It isn’t winter storage. At the end of the season the mower comes off the dock and goes indoors. The steps are in how to winterize a robot mower.
• It isn’t a must. The mower is built for the weather. A garage is a battery-life and tidiness upgrade, not a requirement, and we list it on the quote as an add-on.

Does a garage block the mower’s signal?

No. Segway says each garage is signal-permeable and doesn’t block connectivity or positioning, and they’re molded plastic for exactly that reason.

That’s also the rule for anything else you might put over a dock: plastic yes, metal no. A metal awning, a deck or a shed roof can block the satellite signals the mower needs at its home base. A dock tucked under one is the mistake we’re called out to fix most often, and our dock placement guide shows why. For an X4, remember the garage covers the mower, not the RTK antenna. How does a Navimow garage go on?

It mounts over the charging station with the hardware in the box, and the Allen wrenches are included, so there’s nothing extra to buy.

The order matters more than the screws. On our installs the garage goes on last:

1. Settle the dock position first: level ground, open sky overhead and a clear, straight approach for docking.
2. Put a mat under the dock if it needs one. A mower can’t cut under or around its own dock, so on many installs the station sits on a rubber stall mat. The dock placement guide covers the mat along with the rest of the checklist.
3. Then add the garage over the station and the mat.
