Segway Navimow — the value leader for open lawns, and the brand we install most

Centimeter-accurate RTK guidance, an X series for lawns up to 1.5 acres on one unit, and the commercial Terranox for 3 to 6. Most of the install stories on this site are Navimows — which is also why we know exactly where they stop.

A Segway Navimow X430 on a freshly installed lawn in West Chester, PA

Who Navimow is for

  • Open or lightly treed lawns with a spot for the RTK antenna — from a quarter acre (X315) to 1.5 acres on a single X450, which has run 1.91 acres on a dialed-in Lewes, DE install.
  • Coverage per dollar. The X450 is the lowest-priced flagship we carry for its acreage, on the navigation we trust most.
  • Hills. An X430 works a 40%-plus berm between young trees in Bucks County, and another mows what may be Annapolis' steepest lawn.
  • Fenced pools and gates — VisionFence camera avoidance plus MowGate, the powered gate the mower opens itself.
  • Acreage and commercial work: the Terranox CM120M1 (3 acres) and CM240M1 (6 acres), which we run and review ourselves.
  • Owners who want the deepest bench behind them: a certified service center, the free Owner Course, and the most Navimow write-ups anywhere.

Who it isn't for

  • Heavy tree canopy with nowhere open for the RTK reference. RTK needs sky; when a yard can't offer it, the LUBA 3's LiDAR is the honest answer.
  • More than about two acres on one robot. Past the X450's real-world ceiling it's a Terranox or two X450s — the comparison is on this site.
  • Mowing in the dark. The X series sees obstacles with a camera; that's LiDAR's game, not Navimow's.
  • Snow. Navimow mows. For a driveway that clears itself, that's Yarbo.

What makes Navimow different

RTK you can actually placeWe've measured about 600 feet of RTK range through trees from a well-mounted antenna, and when there's no antenna spot at all, NetRTK corrections over cellular are an option. Placement is the whole install — and it's what we do.
Published battery lifeNavimow publishes a roughly 1,500-cycle capacity plateau — the only brand we carry that puts a number on it — and the packs are a swap, $221 to $489 depending on the model.
VisionFence and MowGateCamera obstacle avoidance for blind corners and a powered gate that lets the mower through a pool fence and closes it behind — the fence keeps its job the other 23 hours.
Terranox for real acreageThe commercial line, rated 3 and 6 acres, tracked in our own reviews: the real math behind '6 acres', a 3-acre install around parked cars in Chester, MD, and a 40° mountain property with no cell coverage.

Segway Navimow — common questions

Which Navimow should I buy?

By mowable acreage, not lot size: the X315 to half an acre, the X430 to one acre, the X450 to 1.5 acres — with proven headroom to about 1.9 on an open, well-installed lawn — and the commercial Terranox CM120M1 and CM240M1 for 3 and 6 acres. Map your lawn free and the tool sizes it; the difference between the X430 and X450 is the subject of its own comparison here.

Does a Navimow need an RTK antenna?

By default, yes — a reference antenna mounted high, rigid and under open sky, which is the single decision that makes or breaks the install. From a good mount we've measured about 600 feet of range through trees. Where no antenna spot exists, NetRTK delivers the corrections over cellular instead, with trade-offs covered in our NetRTK-vs-local guide.

How does a Navimow handle hills?

Better than the spec sheet suggests. A single X430 works a man-made berm with faces past a 40% grade in Bucks County, PA, and another runs daily on one of Annapolis' steepest lawns. For extreme grades or wet slopes the all-wheel-drive LUBA 3, rated to 80%, is the safer pick — we'll tell you which on the call.

How long does the battery last?

Navimow publishes a roughly 1,500-charge-cycle capacity plateau — the only brand we carry that puts a number on it. How many years that is depends on how often your lawn makes it recharge, which the mapping tool models for your lawn; a replacement pack runs about $221 (X315) to $489 (X430/X450).

Is Zippy Lawnz an authorized Segway Navimow dealer?

Yes — an authorized dealer and service center with certified technicians, genuine OEM parts in stock, and warranty handled here. Hands-on install and service across MD, DE, PA, VA and CO; sales, shipping and remote setup nationwide.
