Segway Navimow Terranox Review: 3-Acre vs 6-Acre Commercial Mower

The Segway Navimow Terranox, an all-wheel-drive commercial robot mower, cutting a large open field

Most robot mowers are built for a backyard. The Segway Navimow Terranox is built for a property — it’s Navimow’s first dedicated commercial platform, made for HOAs, sports fields, corporate campuses, municipal grounds and professional landscaping crews. As an authorized Segway Navimow dealer that installs and services these in the field, here’s our hands-on look at the two models — the 3-acre CM120M1 and the 6-acre CM240M1.

Terranox in one line: acreage without the infrastructure

The thing that makes the Terranox stand out isn’t just the size it covers — it’s what it doesn’t need. No boundary wire to trench in. No antenna reference station to mount. It runs on Network RTK, so setup is genuinely drop-and-mow. For a commercial account, skipping the wire install is a huge deal.

Unboxing

These arrive as serious machines — a 17-inch cutting deck, tracked/AWD chassis, and commercial build quality. In the video we open one up and walk through what’s in the box.

Setup & app pairing

Setup runs through the Navimow app: power up, pair, and connect to Network RTK — no reference antenna to survey in. The charging station is a simple drop-plate the unit returns to on its own.

Mapping with GeoSketch

Instead of walking a wire, you map the property in the app with GeoSketch — drawing zones, boundaries and no-go areas. This is where an authorized dealer earns its keep on a commercial job: we map the whole site, set the zones and hand off a system that’s already running routes.

Test drive, first mow & cut quality

On the first mow, the AWD platform and 17″ deck handle open acreage and rough ground with a clean, even cut. VisionFence watches for obstacles as it goes. It’s not a fast little backyard robot — it’s a steady, all-day commercial worker, and that’s exactly the point.

Pick the CM120M1 for grounds up to about 3 acres, and step up to the CM240M1 when you’re covering closer to 6 — or run multiple units under Fleet Management for very large or multi-site accounts. (List pricing is roughly $5,499 for the CM120M1 and $6,999 for the CM240M1 — confirm current commercial pricing and lead times with us.)

Who it’s for (and who it’s not)

Buy it if you manage acreage — an HOA, a sports complex, a campus, a cemetery, a municipal park, or a landscaping route — and you want hands-free, wire-free mowing that scales to a fleet.

Skip it if you have a residential yard. For a home lawn, a Navimow X4 or LUBA 3 costs far less and does that job perfectly — the Terranox is overkill (and over-budget) for a backyard.

Frequently asked

What's the difference between the Terranox CM120M1 and CM240M1?

Coverage. The CM120M1 handles up to about 3 acres and the CM240M1 up to about 6 acres — roughly a football field a day. They share the same commercial platform: 17-inch deck, all-wheel drive, Network RTK navigation and VisionFence obstacle avoidance.

Does the Navimow Terranox need boundary wires or a reference antenna?

No — and that's the headline. Unlike most commercial robots, the Terranox uses Network RTK, so there's no perimeter wire to bury and no antenna reference station to install. It's genuinely drop-and-mow, which is why setup is so fast.

What slopes can the Terranox handle?

Its all-wheel drive climbs slopes up to 40° (about 84% grade) — steep enough for retention basins, embankments and rolling commercial grounds that would defeat a wheeled consumer robot.

Can I run multiple Terranox units as a fleet?

Yes. Navimow's Fleet Management lets you monitor and control multiple units remotely — the reason the Terranox suits HOAs, sports fields, campuses and landscaping crews covering many acres or multiple sites.
